My name is Jacob Rach. My artwork title is, "Barn Stable." Like what my title of this blog post is Barn Stable, so I created a stable for horses or donkeys. The art supplies that I used was, pencils, color pencils, and a ruler. After getting the lines and designs I then added color to make the stable look realistic. Next, I decided to use complementary colors to add to the primary colors that were on the Barn Stable to add a little more of a shock to it.
Before adding the complementary colors, I asked Mrs. Bailey ( my art teacher ) if I was finished if I was done. She said that I should add complementary colors. I asked, "What are complementary colors?" Then Mrs. Bailey said, "Go look up at the wall were the color wheel is." So I went up to the wall and to the right of the color wheel there was a definition of complementary colors. So I read the definition of complementary colors. Next, Mrs. Bailey said to me to look at the color wheel. I look at the color wheel and she asked, "What is the complementary color of red?" I then said, "Green" So then that is why I used the complementary colors because it is my strongest element of art.
I chose to make this barn stable is because, it had horses inside of the stable. That reminded me that my brother has a donkey and my dad has two horses so that decided to make this stable. This was challenging for me because, I never drawn a drawing before that was very challenging to me. Also drawing had the fences really close and the stable was far so that was also challenging. I learned something new from Mrs. Bailey that there is other ways that you can use color pencils. I think that my project is good because, I used complementary colors to make my art project look more realistic. The strongest studio habit of mind was I developed my art making skills because, I proved that I can draw something that is challenging.
